ABOUT DAR ES SALAAM

Dar es Salaam is Tanzania’s largest city and a vibrant hub of culture, commerce, and education. Interns will work at the prestigious Muhimbili National Hospital, one of the top referral hospitals in East Africa. The city offers a unique blend of urban life and access to nearby coastal adventures.

TRIP OVERVIEW

This program includes a medical internship placement in Dar es Salaam with a weekend trip to Zanzibar. Interns will gain hands-on experience during weekdays and enjoy a cultural excursion to Zanzibar at the end of the program.

TRIP ITINERARY

  • Sunday (Arrival Day): Airport pickup and city orientation around Dar es Salaam.

  • Monday to Friday: Medical internship at Muhimbili National Hospital. Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

  • Saturday: Trip to Zanzibar for exploration and relaxation.

  • Sunday: Return from Zanzibar – this marks the end of the program.

Please note: Our placements run Monday to Friday. Accommodation is available from the Sunday before starting the placement, through midday on the Saturday after the placement finishes.

Accommodation Information

Interns will be provided with fully furnished, comfortable accommodation close to the hospital. Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

A dedicated support person will be available throughout the entire stay to assist interns with guidance, and any personal needs to ensure a smooth and safe experience.

Prices and Fees

The program fee starts at $2,740 per person for 1 week. This fee includes:

  • Internship placement

  • Accommodation

  • Daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

  • Local transportation to the hospital

  • Zanzibar weekend trip (for Dar es Salaam interns)

  • Airport pickup and orientation

  • 24/7 support from a dedicated on-ground coordinator

Note:

Interns can choose to extend the program up to 8 weeks. Additional weeks will be charged accordingly.
